Interview with Evangelist Leonor Powell

LADY:  Where did you get your caring heart?

Ev. Leonor:  I believe I received it at the age of 8 when I was saved. I do believe that it is part of our design from God.

LADY:  Who modeled caring for you and has been your greatest
inspiration for life?

Ev. Leonor:  My grandmother, she was so caring too!  She loved me when I felt so alone as a young child.

LADY:  What is your life mission?

Ev. Leonor:  My mission is to reach many people with the good news of Love and peace and the gospel of Jesus Christ our savior in this uncertain world.

LADY:  What is that thing greater than yourself that you are committed to?

Ev. Leonor:  My committment is a relationship with God

LADY:  What do you sense is the greatest need among people where you live and people across the Planet Earth?

Ev. Leonor:  I sense that everyone is looking for that one thing to fullfill them, to make them happy..When the only thing that will make us fullfilled and happy is that inner Peace that comes with casting all your cares upon Him!

LADY:  If you had the power to change three things going on in the world right now, what would you change and why?

Ev. Leonor:  I would changed Hatred to Love, Anger into Peace, Division into Unity, because in this fast pace world from the time I was little until now there has been many changes to our world. We have become more independent and we think we don't need one another. We have become more self centered and that stirs the fire for the me, I, mine to the point it borders less care for others and the hurting that is even next door in our own neighbor hoods. Our Children are now learning things that as a child I was taught to be thankful and caring and respectful, where today we see the oposite of these things. We have more disrepect to human kind everywhere in such violence and war.

LADY:  What is your sense of the why of the conflicts between adult women and men, people of different ethnic groups, people of different economic groups, or just people of different social or gender preferences?

Ev. Leonor:  My sense is we have walked in such divsion in looking at one another as being so different that we forget that we all came from one blood which started out with Adam and Eve.

Acts 17:26-27

And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings, NKJV  We allow outward differences to separate us!

LADY:  Who is your current greatest living influence and why?

Ev. Leonor:  Billy Graham, because he has stood with the same message for many years and that message was hope for all!

LADY:  What are your recommendations for families with children?

Ev. Leonor:  Be a real family and come together and know one another's heart and listen and truly love. Our founding fathers knew that God had to be the foundation for building up their families!

LADY:  How do you process all the human violence and natural disasters taking place all over the world?

Ev. Leonor:  The way I process it is in much prayer.. And Reading the Bible to understand where it came from and why it is here. But as we pray to know our part in this world while we are here is very important to do all we can for God's plan in the earth.

LADY:  What are you living for? What do you hope for yourself, your family, your community, and for humanity?

Ev. Leonor:  I know my destiny is to spread as much hope and love and good news that my corner that God has given me will produce. My hope for me and my family and community is that we seek to know what our destiny is and fullfill it to help one another. I know I can't save the whole world but this starts in our little world of life to let our light shine to help others in their darkness.

LADY:  What is your sense of what the future holds?

Ev. Leonor:  My sense is that God is preparing a people to show His love and prayer and Word within the Earth. I do believe that as times get more uncertain God will have a voice and light to lead us as we know Him. I do believe in heaven and Jesus coming! But there is a Harvest that we are all destine to reap.

A Time to Cry
Tears are the silent language of grief.

Voltaire

It is probably is a good time to feel and experience the result of feeling. It is amazing how well humans have been designed. When our pain and our grief become too much to bear, we have a built safety valve to vent the weight of our souls looking for relief.

Pressure cookers were used where I grew up to can food to have on hand for winter. My mother would put quart jars inside the pressure cooker to seal in her investment. When the heat under the pressure cooker exceeded its capacity to hold heat inside, it would whistle and vent excess heat.

We, human beings, have internal sensors to accomplish the same thing. When our emotional pain has become more than we can bear, a valve opens and we cry. We cry tears unless our need to control is so excessive we do not allow ourselves the privilege.

What happens to a pressure cooker that can't vent its excess heat? It explodes? What happens to a person who refuses the release of pain through crying tears?

First, they suffer the indignity of violent angry external outbursts, explosions, as it were at others who usually have nothing to do with their personal pain. Second, they suffer the unnecessary internal explosion of implosion. The pent up emotional energy is going somewhere. In either of these contexts, it is not in the interest of the person in pain.

It is believed that one of the attributes of the woman's beauty is in the ability to cry easily. I honor the ability to accomplish the feat. In crying, the shedding of tears, a peaceful internal comfort is derived with the release of the pain.

I have learned over these many years that when my emotional pain becomes too great, I need to be smart enough to allow my system to do what it needs to do, to cleanse.

We can get well. We can heal but not without passing the way of tears.
